In Rajhrad, at the premises of the Secondary Horticultural School, the most modern educational greenhouse in the Czech Republic has officially opened. The facility was designed and built by Agro-Sur, a company that has been setting standards in the horticultural and vegetable production sector in Poland and Europe for nearly 30 years.
A Groundbreaking Project for Vocational Education
The educational greenhouse in Rajhrad is the result of several months of intensive collaboration with Czech partners. This state-of-the-art facility has been equipped with the most advanced horticultural technologies available, supporting the practical education of the next generation of professional growers.
“For nearly 30 years, Agro-Sur has been transforming the horticultural and vegetable industry. We have completed many greenhouse projects, including large-scale ones. Importantly, we also build research and educational facilities in Poland and across Europe. Universities, research institutes, and vocational secondary schools benefit from our experience, services, and products. We are proud that the Agro-Sur greenhouse is now the most modern educational greenhouse in the Czech Republic,” said Małgorzata Surowiec, CEO of Agro-Sur.
Cutting-Edge Technology at the Service of Learning
The new facility is equipped with an advanced INTA climate control computer with a touch screen, allowing precise management of internal temperature, irrigation, ventilation, electrical systems, and shading and thermal insulation curtains. The greenhouse is divided into six independent climate zones, enabling the adjustment of growing conditions for various plant types – ideal for educational purposes.
The facility also features professional ebb and flood tables, ensuring even watering and optimal plant growth. The automated shading system not only regulates light intensity but also significantly improves the energy efficiency of heating and cooling processes.
Recognized by Authorities and the Educational Community
The opening of the greenhouse was welcomed with great appreciation by regional authorities and the school’s management.
“We are very satisfied that Agro-Sur won the public tender. We were pleased it was Agro-Sur, as they had excellent references. After the entire construction process, which took around 7 months, we are fully satisfied with the cooperation,” said Dr. Marek Kňažík, Headmaster of the Secondary Horticultural School in Rajhrad.
“As the South Moravian Region, it is extremely important for us to support vocational education. Since we have such a unique school here in Rajhrad, we must ensure that students work in greenhouses with the kind of equipment they will encounter in their future careers. Agro-Sur has delivered that,” added Jan Grolich, Governor of the South Moravian Region.
“I’m happy that students – the future generation of horticulturists – can now learn in such a large, well-equipped, and innovative facility,” said Daniela Urešová, journalist and advertising manager of Zahradnictví magazine.
“I’ve known this school for 20 years, and I remember that the old greenhouses were no longer functional. Seeing this new and beautiful facility today fills me with joy and pride,” commented Vladimír Šmerda, Chairman of the School Council and former Regional Councilor.
Dr. Kňažík concluded:
“We hope to continue working with Agro-Sur on future projects for our school.”
